10 take sail on Gladys

We had a truly wonderful evening last week, with great food and great company, aboard the Thames Sailing Barge, Gladys.

AB Agri very kindly invited the 10 team to an evening’s cruise along the River Thames to celebrate recent project achievements.

The Gladys is over 100 years old and has been restored to allow her to continue to sailing and racing. Cranfield Brothers, Ipswich flour millers, purchased Gladys in 1905 when she regularly carried 140 tonnes of grain between London, Tilbury and Rochford under sail. In 1950 her first engine was installed. Gladys became part of ABF plc in 1972 and continued trading for two years before being converted to carry 12 passengers.
